Topic: Color image enhancement in matching with the visual characteristics of human beings.
Abstract :
Image enhancement technology is one of the basic technologies in image processing field. There are a lot of researches for gray-scale images. However, we usually deal with color images in daily life. We can apply the image enhancement technologies for gray-scale images to the intensity component of color images. Color images consist of not only intensity but also chromaticity. Chromaticity is an objective specification of the quality of color regardless of its intensity. Therefore, it is not suitable to directly use gray-scale image enhancement technologies for only intensity component of color images. As a result, we need to develop color enhancement technologies to deal with the problems.
In this presentation, many color models for various applications are reviewed. Especially, hue-saturation-intensity (HSI) color model is important, since the HSI model is close to human being’s perception to color. Hue is that attribute of a color which decides what kind color it is, i.e., a red or an orange. Saturation shows the vividness of color and has effect on the impression of the image. For the purpose of emphasis color images, it is to be seen that hue value should not change for any pixel. If hue value is changed, thereby distorting the image. For hue-preservingcolor image processing, the original RGB image is usually transformed into HSI color space, then, the intensity/saturation components is processed, but the hue component remains unchanged. There are a lot of HSI color models. However, almost all models have the gamut problem. The most common HSI color model has also the gamut problem. The improvement HSI color model is derived by the most common HSI color model. The improvement HSI color model has the same gamut of RGB color model. Furthermore hue-preserving processing methods in RGB color space are also shown. In order to confirm the effectiveness of the improvement HSI color model and hue-preserving processing methods in RGB color space, many color enhancement results are shown.

Topic: Research in Communications and Related Technology for Sustainable Development of Thai Industry
Abstract:
Communication technologies have created revolution for our world in most of fields including business, medicine, space, agriculture and defense etc. Applications of communication can be found in daily life such as televisions, tablets, and mobile phones. Thus it is evident that the usage of communications is wide and everywhere. The investigations on communication technology and related fields are of importance particularly in some specific applications for Thai industry. Therefore, researchers from many universities with different expertises but a common interest have been invited to conduct a collaborative research in communication technology under the Senior Research Scholar Program of Thailand Research Fund (TRF). The project aims to establish basic knowledge, which is a significant foundation in problem solving of the country. This project concentrates on not only direct uses of communication technology but also agricultural and defense applications.

Topic: Development of a collaboration environment on the cloud services.
Abstract :
Recent years, many cloud services are available and become popular because of easy operating and the advantage of the cost. In the view point for sharing the knowledge on the research field, it is also important to use thecould computing and services. Therefore, we propose a collaboration environment developing with the cloud services. The key issue of this work is to combine the could services according to purposes and integrate them so that the services work properly with user requirements. Namely, the collaboration envelopment is a portal for the users and is a middleware for the cloud services, such as file-sharing, SNS, text log, video communication, etc.
Concept and a practical way to integrate the cloud services will be discussed.
